Episode: “Submarine” A World Beneath the Surface

This episode invites children into an imagined underwater world, where a submarine becomes more than a vehicle. It can be a home, a shelter, a place to travel, observe, and dream.

In this lesson, children design submarines not as technical machines to copy, but as personal worlds shaped by imagination and storytelling. Inspired by submarines, bathyscaphes, and pure fantasy, they create underwater structures filled with rooms, details, and ideas that reflect how they imagine life beneath the surface.

This is an invitation to let go of realism and create freely.

Why do we do this?

Creating an imaginary submarine helps children:
• develop spatial imagination
• build visual storytelling skills
• combine drawing and painting
• make independent creative decisions
• gain confidence in their own ideas

This lesson shows that art does not need to be realistic to feel real.

Because sometimes the most fascinating worlds
are the ones we dare to imagine beneath the surface.
